研究領域:
  • 我們已經建造一套包含基質輔助雷射脫附/游離法(MALDI)、垂直加速飛行時間質譜儀(orthogonal acceleration time-of-flight mass spectrometer)的儀器,利用同步輻射光源可調光子能量的軟X光,激發生物分子中特定原子的內層電子至特定的分子軌域,同時達到游離及斷鍵的目的。再以飛行時間質譜儀等,分析其分解碎片的質量和其他特性。利用此方法及其他科學家已經得知一些原子選擇性、位置選擇性的特點,我們將經由質譜取得並歸納生物分子(特別是醣分子)選擇性斷鍵的特性,再經過一連串對生物分子的研究後,以所得之性質協助決定重要生物大分子如醣分子之化學結構。短期的目標是以研究、偵測較小生物分子或是醣類分子的選擇性斷鍵為主,比較激發不同位置的碳原子或氧原子的質譜,尋找生物分子選擇性斷鍵的質譜特徵。
