Introduction
To provide Taiwanese users a world-class neutron experimental facility, National Science Council (NSC) funded the construction of a cold neutron triple-axis spectrometer, which is carried out by National Central University. The Taiwan-Australian neutron instrument SIKA (Spin-polarized Inelastic K-space Analyzer) is located at Australian Nuclear Science and Technology Organization (ANSTO), near Sydney, Australia. NSRRC is commissioned by NSC to operate and maintain SIKA after the successful commissioning to ensure safe and smooth operations. NSRRC is also responsible for the promotion of neutron research and user cultivation in Taiwan. The operations of SIKA brings the support to the Taiwanese and international user communities to undertake world-leading neutron-based research. By means of collaborating with worldwide neutron facilities and participating in international neutron research organizations, we expect to successfully cultivate and increase Taiwanese neutron research teams in the near future.
The major tasks of Neutron Group are:
- To run and maintain ANSTO-SIKA.
- To provide financial support to Taiwanese users to perform neutron experiments at ANSTO and other international neutron facilities with approved proposals.
- To execute and broaden related scientific and technological applications of neutron scattering.
- To promote the domestic neutron scattering research and cultivate the neutron users.
