NSRRC Activity Report 2023

Facts and Figures 133 Synchrotron Radiation Research Forum at the 2023 TwIChE Annual Meeting Summer School on Free Electron Lasers The 70 th Annual Meeting of the Taiwan Institute of Chemical Engineers (TwIChE) was held on December 9 and 10 at the National Taiwan University. On December 10, Dr. Hung-Wei Shiu and Dr. Chun-Jen Su of the NSRRC held the Synchrotron Radiation Research Forum. The sessions of the forum covered heterogeneous catalysis, the spectroscopic study of energy materials, Li-ion batteries, The Summer School on Free Electron Lasers (FEL) 2023 was held at the NSRRC from July 3 to 8. A total of 53 students participated in the five-day program. To train scientists dedicated to FEL science and technology, the school gave lectures on FEL and its applications in electronics, biomedical science, physics, chemistry, and materials science. FEL is a crucial fourth-generation light source, and its application can provide unprecedented insights into natural and technological mechanisms. Some advanced industrial nations are developing FEL facilities to maintain their positions in light source-enabled science and technology. Summer School on FEL aimed to cultivate scientists in FEL accelerator technologies. The Synchrotron Radiation Research Forum aimed to spur collaboration between the NSRRC and other Taiwanese research institutions. air–liquid interface, hydrogen energy, and organic photovoltaics. This forum aimed to spur collaboration between the NSRRC and other Taiwanese research institutions. The use of synchrotron radiation techniques and the assistance of NSRRC scientists can broaden the knowledge and scope of research in Taiwan. Training Courses
