NSRRC Activity Report 2023

Facts and Figures 129 NSRRC Forum at the 27 th Biophysics Conference The 27 th Biophysics Conference took place from May 17 to 20 at the Tzu Chi University in Hualien. The NSRRC Forum entitled “Interdisciplinary Collaborations on Structural Biology with Protein Crystallography” was held on the third day. In the forum, two NSRRC scientists gave presentations on the latest developments in technologies and techniques at the TPS. Dr. U-Ser Jeng discussed research opportunities in biomolecular solutions at the TPS 13A BioSWAX Beamline, and Dr. Lee-Jene Lai introduced the advantages of 3D cell imaging using soft X-ray tomography. This forum emphasized NSRRC’s strategies for interdisciplinary collaboration on biomedicine and encouraged participants to use the NSRRC experimental facilities to facilitate their research. Synchrotron-based Biomedical Techniques Forum at the 2023 TNS Annual Meeting TJK21 was held in Hsinchu, Taiwan on April 6 and 7. The Synchrotron-based Biomedical Techniques Forum was held at the International Conference on Precision Nanomedicine in Theranostics & 2023 TNS Annual Meeting. The International Conference on Precision Nanomedicine in Theranostics & The 2023 Annual Meeting of Taiwan Nanomedicine Society (TNS) was held on July 21 and 22 in Taichung. On the first day of the conference, the NSRRC held the Synchrotron-based Biomedical Techniques Forum. Six NSRRC scientists presented the latest biomedical techniques available at the NSRRC, including cryo-soft X-ray tomography, nano-transmission X-ray microscopy, microtomography, Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopic imaging, and biological small/wide angle X-ray scattering. The NSRRC’s interdisciplinary collaboration strategies on structural biology with protein crystallography were also introduced.
