130 ACTIVITY REPORT 2021 This MOU was signed to enhance and to deepen the partnership between both parties after years of fruitful research. MPI had decided on an additional investment of 1 million euros (approximately TWD 33 million) to construct a “high-field magnet research facility” located upstream of the submicron soft X-ray spectroscopy beamline; an additional investment of 730,000 euros (approximately TWD 24 million) will be made to upgrade and to maintain existing experimental facilities. This action will facilitate research on electromagnetics as well as the development of cutting-edge magnetic materials. A close collaboration between the two top research organizations with talents will undoubtedly result in synergy, benefit and expand the scientific collaboration networks of both countries, which is expected to provide a surge of energy for scientific development in Taiwan. NSRRC Signed MOU with ELI Beamlines of Czech Republic The NSRRC and Extreme Light Infrastructure (ELI) Beamlines in the Czech Republic hosted a MOU signing ceremony via videoconferencing on December 9. The joint collaboration MOU was arranged mainly by Dr. Hong-Wei Yen, Director of Science and Technology Division of Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in the Czech Republic. ELI Beamlines are a part of NSRRC signed the MOU with ELI Beamlines of Czech Republic via videoconferencing. The MOU signing ceremony between NSRRC and MPI CPfS was attended via videoconferencing.
