NSRRC-JINR Webinar The “NSRRC-JINR Webinar on Scientific Cooperation in Phys- ics, Chemistry and Bio-Medicine” was held on September 10 by the NSRRC, Joint Institute for Nuclear Research (JINR) and Russian Academy of Sciences (RAS) to share the latest research results and scientific achievements in Taiwan and Russia. To facilitate scientific collaborations between NSRRC, JINR and RAS, the webinar was brought about by Director Song-Jeng Huang, Science and Technology Division in Moscow, Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST) of Taiwan. The webinar commenced with opening remarks by Dr. Richard Lednick ý (Vice-Director of JINR), Representative Chung-Yung Keng (Head of the Taipei Representative Office in Moscow for the Taipei-Moscow Economic and Cultural Coordination Commission) and Dr. Gwo-Huei Luo (Director of NSRRC). Afterwards, a group photo was taken for this momentous occasion that initiated an international col- laboration between each other. The scientists from Taiwan and Russia made presentations on the current status of the organizations, most advanced techniques and the latest research results. They also held a panel discussion on the academic-exchange plan. A consensus was reached on future collaboration incorporating internship, visiting and exchanging scientists, sharing neutron and synchrotron radiation facilities, and joint research in the fields of struc- tural biology, soft matter, small-angle scattering, 2D mate- rials, theoretical computation and accelerators. The contact windows of each side have been appointed for further interactions. Synchrotron Radiation Forum at 2020 MRS-T Annual Meeting The 2020 Annual Meeting of Material Research Society of Taiwan (MRS-T) took place at Ming Chi University of Tech- nology on November 6 and 7. Deputy Director Chun-Jung Chen and Dr. Yan-Gu Lin of NSRRC organized “Synchrotron Radiation Forum” on the second day, inviting outstanding NSRRC users from NTHU, Tamkang University, National Chiao Tung University and Academia Sinica, as well as five NSRRC beamline scientists to speak about the synchrotron radiation techniques and applications of TPS phase-II beam- lines on material research. As a powerful characterization facility in situ , the TPS is available to provide useful micro- structural information on many energy materials. More than 60 scholars and students participated in the Synchrotron Radiation Forum at 2020 MRS-T Annual Meeting.
