134 ACTIVITY REPORT 2020 (IL-33)-mediated chromatin organization in Glial cell pro- liferation and differentiation, and would determine the structure of chromatin and chromosome in nuclei by SXT. Prof. Wei-hsuan Yu (National Taiwan University) introduced the gefitinib-resistant lung-cancer stem cell associated bulky-ball-like nucleolus as a p53 molecular cage, and planned to reveal the detailed architecture of the bulky- ball-like nucleolus by SXT. Dr. Tang K. Tang (Academia Sinica) described deciphering the complex role of human microcephaly proteins in centriole duplication and cilio- genesis, and intended to image the centriole/centrosome duplication and cilia formation by SXT. Three speakers were studying the morphology of mitochondria. Prof. Chuang- Rung Chang (NTHU) addressed clarifying a mitochondrial network and organelle contacts in eukaryotic cells at met- abolic stage. SXT images can provide information about regulatory mechanisms of mitochondria dynamics to iden- tify therapeutic targets in related diseases. Prof. Lu-Shiun Her (National Cheng Kung University) presented the roles of Huntingtin-associated protein 40 (HAP40) in mitochon- drial dysfunction of Huntington’s disease (HD) model cells and expected to understand the localization of a fraction of HAP40 in mitochondria by SXT. Dr. Chi-yu Fu (Academia Sinica) discussed the mitochondrial structure and network remodeling by cryo-electron tomography, and anticipated to study the fusion and fission processes of mitochondria in thick samples of whole cells with SXT. Dr. Lee-Jene Lai as the last speaker introduced the scientific opportunities of soft X-ray tomography in bio-science. She also reported the current status and future prospects of TPS 24A. Visitors were attracted by various devices displayed at the booths of the NSRRC at Future Tech 2020. Future Tech 2020 2020 Taiwan Innotech Expo was held by Ministry of Economic Affairs and Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST) from September 24 to 26 at Hall 1 of Taiwan World Trade Center. Based on the Six Core Strategic Industries which are developed from the government’s 5+2 Industrial Innovation Plan, MOST had organized 2020 Taiwan Innotech Expo—Future Tech to display cutting-edge Taiwanese technologies and innovative industrial applications. The Future Tech exhibition focused on the topics of Precision Health, Electronics & Optoelectronics, Evolutionary Materials and AI & AIoT Application. The NSRRC had an exhibition area with four booths at 2020 Taiwan Innotech Expo—Future Tech. Among the significant tech- nologies that the NSRRC currently developed, the NSRRC selected and displayed four crucial and advanced technologies, in- cluding “Fast Cancer Screening and Prognosis Assessment and Prediction of Treatment Response in Chronic Kidney Disease by Using Synchrotron Infrared Microscopy”, “Small- and Wide-angle X-ray Scattering on Biological Structures”, “The Future Light Source—Ultrafast Molecular Imaging: Free Electron Laser”, and “Highly Efficient Fabrication and Applications of Bio-inspired Flexible Photonic Crystals by Trapping of Structural Coloration”. These four topics reveal the NSRRC’s scientific breakthroughs and potential for industrial applications.
