132 ACTIVITY REPORT 2020 2020 Users’ Meeting & Workshops. For COVID-19 prevention purpose, a drone photo was taken outdoor for attendees so as to practice social distancing. X-ray Diffraction, SR-based Microscopy, X-ray Absorption Spectroscopy, X-ray and Neutron Scattering and Micro- Crystal X-ray Diffraction. This year the Users’ Meeting also lasted for three days to highlight more research results from the user community. Two poster sessions covered 238 presentations, including 65 registered as candidates for the best popularity awards and 12 entering the final competition of oral presentations. The winners were given awards during the banquet. Prof. Hui-Chun Cheng (NTHU) succeeded Prof. Chen as the UEC chair at the banquet, which was held in the second evening. Except for the absence of foreign speakers and sponsors, the scale and format of this event was similar to previous years. Besides the users’ meeting, three topic-specific work- shops were held on the third day. Summarized below are these workshops. Workshop I: The Phase III Beamline Design and Con- struction of TPS The beamline construction project of the TPS was launched after the construction plan of the TPS. There are three phases of the beamline construction plan including 25 beamlines. Right after completion of the phase-II beamline construction, the NSRRC will start the construction project of the nine phase-III beamlines in 2021 January. In this workshop, the phase-III beamlines were introduced to the attendees by NSRRC scientists. In the morning, the first session included TPS 11A In-situ Serial Synchrotron Crystallography presented by Dr. Chun-Hsiang Huang and TPS 14A Small- and Wide- angle X-ray Scattering Beamline presented by Dr. Chun-Jen Su. The second session consisted of TPS 20A Two-dimensional X-ray Diffraction Beamline by Dr. Yen-Chung Lai and TPS 47A High-energy Resolution X-ray Spectroscopy Beamline by Dr. Jin-Ming Chen. In the afternoon, the third session included three presenta- tions, which were TPS 38A X-ray Absorption Spectroscopy Beamline by Dr. Ting-Shan Chan, TPS 32A Tender X-ray Spectroscopy Beamline by Dr. Chi-Liang Chen, and TPS 33A Dragon Beamline by Dr. Wen-Bin Wu. The final session con- sisted of TPS 43A Ambient/Ultra-high Vacuum X-ray Photo- electron Spectroscopy by Dr. Chia-Hsin Wang and TPS 35A Concept Design and Construction for Soft X-ray Absorption Spectroscopy by Dr. Shu-Chih Haw.
