Since 2016, the National Science and Technology Council (NSTC) has collaborated with the Taiwan Railway Corporation and nationwide science outreach teams to organize the annual “Taiwan Science Train” event, which celebrates its 11th edition this year.

In response to the national policy of promoting science popularization, the NSRRC set up an interactive booth at Hsinchu Railway Station on October 19. Organized by the Instrumentation and Control Group, the booth introduced the fundamental principles of synchrotron radiation to the public, translating complex accelerator physics into engaging, hands-on scientific experiences.

Featuring the theme “Journey of the Electron Beam: Unveiling the Secrets of Synchrotron Accelerators,” the booth engaged visitors with interactive exhibits that traced the path of electron beams. Attendees gained insight into how the control system operating behind the scenes—precisely monitoring and adjusting parameters to ensure beam stability and deliver high-quality synchrotron radiation light.
