NSTC Minister Cheng-Wen Wu Visited NSRRC

The visit by NSTC Minister Cheng-Wen Wu and his delegation was hosted by NSRRC management and staff.
Minister Cheng-Wen Wu of the National Science and Technology Council (NSTC) and his delegation visited the NSRRC on July 19. NSRRC Director Chia-Hung Hsu briefed Minister Wu on NSRRC's current development and future prospects. Accompanied by Director Hsu and NSRRC scientists, Minister Wu toured key facilities at the Taiwan Photon Source (TPS), starting with the control room and moving on to explore electron acceleration, magnets, and vacuum technologies in the storage ring. To highlight the application of advanced synchrotron radiation research techniques in diverse fields, including pharmaceuticals, biomedicine and green energy, the tour continued to the experimental facilities at the Micro-focus Protein Crystallography Beamline (TPS 07A), Biological Small-angle X-ray Scattering Beamline (TPS 13A), and High-resolution Powder X-ray Diffraction Beamline (TPS 19A). Minister Wu acknowledged NSRRC's achievement on synchrotron radiation research, and he expected that NSRRC would actively advance domestic scientific research and contribute to Taiwan's sustainable development through fundamental science and technological innovation.
