The Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST) recently announced the awardees of the “2021 Outstanding Research Award”. There are seven NSRRC users among them: Prof. Wei-Guang Diau, Prof. Yao-Ting Wu, Prof. Yuh-Ju Sun, Associate Research Fellow Dr. Shang-Te Danny Hsu, Prof. Shiao-Wei Kuo, Research Fellow and Director Kuo-Chen Yeh and Prof. Yu-Lun Chueh.

Prof. Wei-Guang Diau, Distinguished Professor in Applied Chemistry National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University specializes in perovskite solar cell, nano science and technology. Prof. Yao-Ting Wu, Distinguished Professor in Chemistry of National Cheng Kung University has expertise in organic chemistry and synthesis. Prof. Yuh-Ju Sun, the Associate Dean of College of Life Science in National Tsing Hua University, has research interests in the fields of crystallography and structure biology. Associate Scientist, Dr. Shang-Te Danny Hsu from Institute of biological chemistry at Academic Sinica, focuses his studies on atomic and molecular insights into the structure-function relationships of biomolecules. Prof. Shiao-Wei Kuo, the Chair of Department of Materials and Optoelectronic Science at National Sun Yat-sen University, specializes in nanocomposites, supramolecular materials and polymer physics. Dr. Kuo-Chen Yeh, the Director of Agricultural Biotechnology Research Center at Academia Sinica, has devoted himself to heavy metal homeostasis in plants, primarily in the molecular mechanisms underlying heavy metal homeostasis, including sensing, signaling, accumulation and tolerance in plants. Prof. Yu-Lun Chueh in Materials Science and Engineering of National Tsing Hua University specializes in synthesis of nanomaterials and device analysis, analysis and synthesis of photoelectric material and energy material, microstructure analysis of nanomaterials; currently he is also a member of the NSRRC User Executive Committee.

The MOST has established the "MOST Outstanding Research Award" for rewarding scientific and technological talents having outstanding research performance, furthermore encouraging them to devote themselves to the fundamental or applied research areas to strength Taiwan's scientific capability and academic status in the international community. The awardees have demonstrated their persistence, innovation and dedication to research activities, and have stood out from numerous outstanding scholars and researchers.
