The Board of Trustees of the National Synchrotron Radiation Research Center (NSRRC) is seeking a Director to lead and develop the facilities, including Taiwan Photon Source (TPS), Taiwan Light Source (TLS), Center's experimental facilities abroad, and scientific programs. The candidate should be a scientific leader with extensive executive experience and ready to provide strategic vision and to secure the funding. Outstanding scientific accomplishments with strong written and verbal communication skills in both English and Chinese are mandatory. NSRRC is a government funded national research laboratory with its first accelerator TLS made available to researchers since 1993. In 2016, TPS, a 3rd generation 3-GeV light source and one of the world's brightest synchrotron X-ray sources, also opened to users. The facilities serve over 2,400 users annually. In addition, NSRRC is in charge of the operation of two Taiwan beamlines at SPring-8, Japan and a cold-neutron triple-axis spectrometer, SIKA, located at Australian Nuclear Science and Technology Organization (ANSTO), Australia.
