The Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST) has announced the forty-five awardees of the 2019 Ta-You Wu Memorial Award. There are three NSRRC users among them: Dr. Chun-Hong Kuo, Prof. Shih-Kang Lin and Prof. Hwan-Ching Tai. They have demonstrated persistence, innovation, and dedication to research, and have stood out from numerous young scholars.

Dr. Kuo, an assistant research fellow from Institute of Chemistry, Academia Sinica, specializes in atomic level design of nanoporous, nanocrystals and their heterostructures for chemical sensing and catalysis. Prof. Lin is an associate professor in Materials Science and Engineering of National Cheng Kung University with research interests in energy materials, electronic materials, and structural materials. Prof. Tai, an associate professor in Chemistry of National Taiwan University, has expertise in chemical biology, neurochemistry, and violin research.

In memory of Academician Ta-You Wu, a highly respected physicist and educator, who was devoted his entirely life to the development of science, National Science Council (reformed as MOST since 2014) established Ta-You Wu Memorial Award in 2002. Every Year, MOST gives out the award to recognize researchers under the age of 42 who are principal investigators of MOST-funded research projects and have made excellent achievements in academic fields of science, engineering, life sciences, humanity, and science education.
