The 24th Y. Z. Hsu Science Award ceremony took place on September 24, honoring 32 outstanding scientific researchers. Prof. Yen-Lin Huang, an NSRRC user, received the "Y. Z. Hsu Scientific Paper Award" for his exceptional achievements in nanotechnology. Prof. Huang is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Materials Science and Engineering at National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University, and also chairs the 2026 NSRRC User Executive Committee (UEC). Specializing in spintronics, switching dynamics of ferroic materials, functional ceramic and metal thin films, and novel materials for emerging memory technology, his remarkable research earned high praise from the selection committee and well-deserved recognition.
Established by the Far Eastern Group, the Y. Z. Hsu Science and Technology Memorial Foundation is guided by its mission of "Technology and Innovation." It promotes scientific awards, public science outreach, and talent development, while encouraging fundamental research and industrial applications to foster collaboration among academia, government, and industry. The Y. Z. Hsu Science Award features five categories: the Y. Z. Hsu Science Chair, Scientific Paper Award, Technology Invention Award, Yuan Ze Chair, and Outstanding Professor Award. It is a major annual event for recognizing Taiwan's scientific and technological innovations.
