The Board of Trustees (BOT) of the National Synchrotron Radiation Research Center (NSRRC) is seeking a Director to lead and develop the facilities, including Taiwan Photon Source (TPS), Taiwan Light Source (TLS) and Center’s experimental facilities abroad, and scientific programs. The candidate should be a scientific leader with extensive executive experience and ready to provide strategic vision and to secure funding. Outstanding scientific accomplishments with strong written and verbal communication skills in both English and Chinese are mandatory.

NSRRC is a government funded national research laboratory with its first accelerator TLS made available to researchers since 1993. In 2016, TPS, a third generation 3-GeV light source and one of the world’s brightest synchrotron X-ray sources, also opened to users. The facilities serve over 2,900 users annually. In addition, NSRRC is in charge of the operation of two Taiwan beamlines at SPring-8, Japan and a cold-neutron triple-axis spectrometer, SIKA, located at the Australian Nuclear Science and Technology Organisation (ANSTO), Australia.

Job details:
The position offers an initial 4-year full-time contract, which is renewable for 1 additional term once approved by BOT, with full benefits specified according to the NSRRC HR Policy and Guidelines.

Qualifications:
Candidates should meet one of the following qualifications:
 - Academician of Academia Sinica
 - Individual with internationally recognized achievements in science and technology
 - Individual with special expertise and recognized achievements in synchrotron radiation-based
  research and technology
