NSRRC Users Prof. Bing-Joe Hwang, Sung-Fu Hung, Han-Yi Chen and NSRRC Scientist Ting-Shan Chan Named Highly Cited Researchers 2025
2026/01/07
The Web of Science Group, a Clarivate Analytics company, has announced the 2025 list of Highly Cited Researchers. This year’s list includes 7,131 selections representing 6,868 scholars from 60 countries worldwide, including 10 from Taiwan. Among them, three are NSRRC users and one is an NSRRC scientist:

Prof. Sung-Fu Hung in Applied Chemistry at National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University was selected in the “Chemistry” category for his research on the development of green hydrogen energy. The other three researchers were named to the “Cross-Field” category. Prof. Bing Joe Hwang in Chemical Engineering at National Taiwan University of Science and Technology, also an adjunct scientist at the NSRRC, specializes in nanostructured energy materials. Prof. Han-Yi Chen in Materials Science and Engineering at National Tsing Hua University focuses on energy storage devices and green renewable materials. Dr. Ting-Shan Chan of the X-ray Absorption Group at the NSRRC conducts research in synchrotron radiation X-ray absorption spectroscopy (XAS).

The Highly Cited Researchers list, released annually by Clarivate, identifies and celebrates scientists and social scientists who have demonstrated significant and broad influence in their fields of research. Each selected researcher has authored multiple highly cited papers, ranking in the top 1% by citations for their field and publication year, based on data from the Web of Science over the past 11 years from January 2014 to December 2024. The list is widely regarded as an important reference indicator within the global academic community, serving not only to acknowledge outstanding research achievements but also to promote scholarly exchange, strengthen research collaboration, and contribute to the advancement of academic research worldwide.
