The 27 winners of the 2025 Y. Z. Hsu Science Award received the prizes on October 13th, 2025, including 4 NSRRC users. Prof. Chih-Huang Lai, Chair Professor in Materials Science and Engineering of National Tsing Hua University, was honored with Y. Z. Hsu Science Chair Professor in Nano Science & Technology. Prof. Hong-Cheu Lin in Materials Science and Engineering of National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University and Prof. Yann-Wen Lan in Physics of National Taiwan Normal University received the Y. Z. Hsu Science Paper Awards in Nano Science & Technology. Prof. Jyh-Ming Wu, Distinguished Professor in Materials Science and Engineering of National Tsing Hua University received the Y. Z. Hsu Science Paper Award in Green Science & Technology. The awards not only represent the contributions made by the awardees in emerging sciences and technologies, but also acknowledge their outstanding achievements in research and won the high recognitions.

The "Far Eastern Y. Z. Hsu Science and Technology Memorial Foundation" was established in 2001 in memory of Mr. Yu-Ziang Hsu, the late founder of the Far Eastern Group. The Foundation upholds its principle of encouraging “Technology and Innovation,” and therefore gives out the “Y. Z. Hsu Awards” annually, including Science Chair Professor, Science Paper Award, and Technology Invention Award. The Foundation is dedicated to promoting the outstanding science and technology achievement in domestic academia, focusing on nano technology, optoelectronics & communications, bio-medical technology, green technologies, as well as artificial intelligence. The award has been presented to 552 awardees for the cutting-edge scientific talents and making the significant annual event in the scientific research community.
