NSRRC Users Profs. Hao-Ming Chen, Sung-Fu Hung, and Bing-Joe Hwang Named Highly Cited Researchers 2024
2024/12/25
The Web of Science Group, a Clarivate Analytics company, has announced its latest list of Highly Cited Researchers. The 2024 list recognizes 6,886 researchers from 57 countries and regions worldwide, including 12 from Taiwan. Among them, three are users of the NSRRC, including Prof. Hao-Ming Chen and Prof. Sung-Fu Hung in the "Chemistry" category, as well as Prof. Bing-Joe Hwang in the "Cross-Field" category.
Prof. Hao-Ming Chen in Chemistry of National Taiwan University is an adjunct scientist of the NSRRC and the first awardee of the NSRRC Outstanding Paper Award. As an expert in in-situ X-ray absorption and diffraction experiments by using the synchrotron radiation research facilities at the NSRRC, he consistently produces high-profile research results with significant global influence. This marks the fourth time he has been named to the list (2020, 2022, 2023 and 2024). Prof. Bing-Joe Hwang in Chemistry Engineering of National Taiwan University of Science and Technology, also an adjunct scientist of the NSRRC, has passionately devoted himself to the study of nanostructured energy materials for lithium-ion batteries, fuel cells, and solar cells. Over the years, he has achieved a multitude of major breakthroughs in battery technology and received numerous awards worldwide. This marks his third consecutive inclusion on the list.
Prof. Sung-Fu Hung in Applied Chemistry of National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University, specializes in nanomaterial synthesis, catalysts for water electrolysis, carbon dioxide reduction reaction, flow system, and in-situ catalytic reaction. Employing synchrotron radiation techniques in his green chemistry research, he is deeply committed to advancing the development of green hydrogen energy. His innovative contributions to carbon reduction have earned him widespread international acclaim. This is his debut appearance on the list.
The Highly Cited Researchers list, released annually by Clarivate, identifies and celebrates scientists and social scientists who have demonstrated significant and broad influence in their fields of research. Each selected researcher has authored multiple highly cited papers, ranking in the top 1% by citations for their field and publication year, based on data from the Web of Science over the past 11 years from January 2013 to December 2023. These researchers play a pivotal role in advancing knowledge and driving innovations that enhance global health, sustainability, and security.
